About

Hi, I’m Lyndsey Westfall and FILM FOODIE is a blog about my encounters with the food and film industry.  I currently work part time with a Toronto indie film company, Hamilton Mehta Productions, helping with an array of promotional, Festival, and marketing activities for their feature film COOKING WITH STELLA.

Cooking With Stella is about a Canadian diplomat in India, with a scheming in-house cooking guru. Directed and written by Dilip Mehta and, co written with his sister Deepa Mehta.

In addition to the production company, I am a full-time student and work on various other projects including First Photos.

First Photos from Push.ca is a skateboard photo contest for emerging photographers in Canada.  Over 300 photos were submitted in fewer than two months for this niche photography; the winners should be announced soon.

The second issue of Chromium Dioxide is out this month (November 2009) and incidentally I am listed as promotions, so check it out!  Chromium Dioxide is Canadian print magazine built on a worship of all things metal: Horror flicks, high volume, vinyl obsession, lurid excess and of course, the TUNES!!! Written and illustrated entirely by the savage Bernard & Kristiansen, available in a bunch of independent shops.

In a somewhat distance past, 2004 to be exact I opened a skate shop in Kensington Market.  The shop doubled as an indoor skateboard park where legendary parties, shows, art shows and premieres took place (check out photos below).  Last winter, I found and ran a space for a skate park, which also hosted a ton of shows including one of my favourite bands NoAge.

My interests (this is starting to sound like a dating ad) include skateboarding, shows (live music) and trying to DJ with an ipod.

So that’s it and read on.
